Sports for All
Empowering youth to become open-minded, positive, and successful citizens of their local and global communities is the foundation of A.S.E’s sports initiatives. A.S.E. proudly partners with the National Inclusion Project and the Ryan Martin Foundation to engage American experts in sharing best practices of using sports as a platform to expand inclusive environments for youth with special needs in schools, camps, and recreational activities throughout Russia. Past programs have included Basketball Ambassadors of Today and Tomorrow, Sports Unite All, and collaborations with the National Wheelchair Basketball Association, Challenged Athletes Foundation, Nike Russia, and numerous others.
Bridges to a Shared Future
Recognizing that we share one world and our future is interconnected, BSF relies on the common bond of dance to build a transnational dialogue of mutual understanding, respect, and shared values. Through programming centered on different styles of dance intrinsic to each country’s heritage, participants learn about each other’s culture, values, and people. Bridges to Shared Future is a collaboration between A.S.E., the John Cranko Schule of The Stuttgart Ballet, the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, the Martha Graham School, and students and educators of dance throughout the United States and beyond.
NSLI for Youth (NSLI-Y)
Scholarship to Study Language Abroad
NSLI-Y, a program of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, provides merit-based scholarships for eligible high school students and recent graduates to learn less commonly taught languages. Building on its commitment to dance as a platform for fostering understanding and linkages across cultures and countries, for 13 years A.S.E.’s NSLI-Y Language and Culture Bolshoi Way program offers a unique opportunity to acquire Russian language skills, cultural competency, and augment one’s ballet training through in-class language instruction, authentic cultural activities, host family stays, and ballet training at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy.
